10 of the best baby books

 Baby books are a brilliant first gift, and something that always goes down super well with new parents.  We've compiled 10 of our favourites to help you make the all important choice - which book should be their FIRST book...?

 

1) Peepo - Janet & Allan Ahlberg

With 45 years as a favourite baby book under it's belt, The Very Hungry Caterpillar has been enjoyed by generations. With it's distinctive illustrative style, and simple yet beautiful story, it's a work of art. 

 

 

 

 

6) Meg and Mog - Helen Nicoll and Jan Pienkowski

 

Meg and Mog has spawned an entire series of books about the scatty witch and her feline best friend.  With an iconic, bold visual identity, these stories are instantly recognisable to young readers, and endlessly popular. 

 

 

7) What's a Penguin to think when he wakes up Pink! - Lynne Rickards

 

An unusual and captivating tale about a little penguin who wakes up one day to find he has turned bright pink.  With lively characters, a compelling storyline, and a beautiful life lesson, it's a story to cherish. 

 

 

8) Hairy MacLary - Lynley Dodd
